Indeed. I was way off, got seduced by the 'straights performance' of McLaren and got lulled into thinking that their newest wing is 'magic stuff' and that their engine map in FPs was sandbagging in 8th gear.f1isgood wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 17:07Okay, very good guess.f1isgood wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 14:13I think it will be optimistically early 1.22s and realistically mid 1.22s. The development from 22 to 23 was only 4 tenths although that was with the floor edge change. The cars seem to have gained much more lap time than 23 this year and so I will expect something like mid-1.22s for qualifying. Would be interesting if these cars can get close to 21 pole which was a 22.1. I have huge doubts given the track layout however.
very fair, very fair.
If that is the rule it's a slam dunk, he overtook Sainz in the tunnel before an outlap.
Imagine a scenario in which Mclaren drivers battles for the lead and they both collide. Hulkenberg brings his first podium home with Sainz winning it and bringing the WCC home for Ferrari.venkyhere wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 18:35Max P5
Russel P7
starting one behind the other.
I don't care what happens in the front, because most likely by Lap2 the McLarens will have pulled clear by more than 1s (which they can easily do, given their prowess through the slow sections) and stay protected in the straights, the battle in the front will be boring.
What I really want to see, is a hollywood battle between Max and Russel.
Ofcourse it's like that ..
Let's quit the conspiracies. This is a clear cut rule break (same with Lando in Qatar). You're not allowed to overtake in the pit exit of Abu Dhabi. The drivers were briefed on this in the driver briefing.langedweil wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 20:03Ofcourse it's like that ..
My god, why don't they just decide beforehand in March who deserves to be wdc/wcc !?
