MCL are looking quicker on long runs (.2-.3 secs), not sure about fuel loads though.
edit: but they appear to have worse deg.
Are we not assuming the clutch overheated while Charles was not moving trying to spin the car.
Well. The clutch has a paddle on the wheel that the driver is 100% in control. Barring an actual mechanical failure, the most likely cause of overheating is the driver slipping and slamming the clutch, on purpose.Space-heat wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 19:23Are we not assuming the clutch overheated while Charles was not moving trying to spin the car.
Annoyingly it seems like Lewis was happy to wait for Charles to turn but he missed the opportunity. I hope he wasn't trying to save the tires with his failed mini spin. At least Carlos looks strong...
They did a front wing adjust after the first push lap. Might have helped.CouncilorIrissa wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 19:24Very small gains coming from hards to softs in S1.
edit: better S1 on his second attempt. As usual
That whole spin seemed very strange. Almost like the ERS just dumped full power on him without warning.
could have been a gust of wind, or just the wrong setup and the car lost traction after coming off the kerb. It did look odd, though. He wasn't going THAT fast there. Lots of drivers were having early issues today including ALO and VER.
Even if they weren't locked, there's not enough time to change suspension settings and such. They can always tweak wings though.codetower wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 21:43could have been a gust of wind, or just the wrong setup and the car lost traction after coming off the kerb. How much setup can they do DURING the sprint qualifying? Or are they locked in once the car hits the track in SQ1?
