It’s no coincidence that both Mercedes and AMR want him, because both think they have aces, why VER could join. Mercedes and their guys tell everywhere that there 2026 engine will be best of class once again. AMR buys half of the paddock engineers, including Newey, with a state of the art factory and also a works partnership.

I don’t understand why people don’t realize how epic this moment is. If Fred takes a championship as a 40+ year, old timer…it begs GOAT. Seriously. What are the odds that this pairing, Newey and Fred, could have ever happened? Think of the events that had to take place to make this possible. Boggles the mind. I think it really weird that we're talking about 2027. So many thing have to fall into place for Max to even want to come to Aston. Also didn't Newey sign a 4 year deal? 2027 is the 3ird year in that contract. Meaning 1 more year left at that point?

Lawrence Stroll said in the Newey press conference that the deal with Honda was for 5 years starting in 2026, so I presume Newey has signed a 5 year contract?

It seems that recently the FIA and the teams have agreed to increase the load of the 2026 cars and to reduce restrictions on some areas of the car. So I imagine this is some good news for Newey
