That was tight! Got the laps in when it mattered though.
Slightly concerned about being picked off down the straights at the start tomorrow, but if they can clear DRS range quickly I think it could be a comfortable race.
Before DRS is activated I think we'll get a good gap and with some of our exits, I think (fingers crossed) that it will be tough to get by us.
safety car ? it's not a great idea to sacrifice too much top speed inorder to benefit from corners. If someone gets ahead, and uses his battery in the straights, it will be not be easy to get by, as there is no getting ahead in the twisty bits, except T9.
Yes, hopefully! The speed deficit in equal trim might still give Sainz a sniff on lap 1, but if the boys make it into S3 in 1-2 they should be able to build that buffer up. Looking forward to it!
A quarter of a century. It's nuts.Shader wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 18:11This is it guys ... tomorrow is the D day.
It's been 26 years ... Last time our team took the title I was a kid at primary school... Today, in 2024, I teach at the University . It's been so long, it's mind-blowing. All those seasons behind Merc, Red Bull, Ferrari... GP2 engines... failures... I though it would never come.
Let's hope our boys finish the job tomorrow, so we celebrate like there's no tomorrow.
Cheers! and Good luck!
Hmm, that's a helluva drought I think. Fortunately, it looks to be ending, but... anything can happen.
Sainz cannot risk damage against our cars. Both guys should be aggressive in shutting him down if he attempts to overtake. Any type of crash that takes out one McLaren and one Ferrari is massively in favor of McLaren WCC chances. We would only need 4 points to be certain of WCC. Sainz also needs to think about Verstappen with nothing to lose. Leclerc is going to need a stellar drive to come close but he could become a factor if the race is chaotic.
If Sainz DNF’s Leclerc would have to win the race to turn over the 21 point lead, even if he took both McLaren out with himFittingMechanics wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 22:36Sainz cannot risk damage against our cars. I think Piastri and Norris have learned how to defend against other teams at start and hopefully they can execute a clean race so masses of McLaren fans don't get heart palpitations.
