I really don't see how a new part would get anywhere near production ready without any CFD at least.

Really interested in this and what they actually did.

Edit: also don't understand how they would design a new part without any reference on what outcome they're looking for

It most definitely is, especially when it comes to keeping the other teams behind. I doubt RB and AM will stay behind for long, but it should help keep Kick Sauber and Alpine behind.
