At least enough to warrant the rebranded team to use 2018 engines, instead of old tech. Good news for them. Hope it won't drain their bank accounts too much though, development stood still for quite some time.

The winner of the first two F1 world championships returns - that’s got a nice ring to it!

Hope they still run in some form of red (despite comparison with Ferrari) - it’s Italian racing red after all and equally(if not more) Alfa’s historical colour as Ferrari’s - also hope Giovanazzi gets a shot as well as Leclerc as he’s equally as good as Gasly imo.

I really wish Sauber the best, hopefully they can start their way back up with the help of Alfa Romeo.

you mean like a Renault with a TagHeuer sticker.....
or a Ferrari engine with a Petronas badge?

What is 'exciting' about this is that we're finally going to see sauber head back to be a solid base again, and not some piece of rotting wood floating around untill it finally is going to sink. I'm glad it's gonna get refurbished and also that we can expect getting rid of useless completely talentless paydrivers. LeClerc is promising, i expect unfortunately to see lousy ericsson still for a season but after that, i think we might see some improvement coming from drivers from other categories that are actually really promising.

Hell, i'd be dancing on the cieling if Ferrari throws in not only LeClerc, but another one from their contracted drivers, the good ol' Kamui Kobayashi.

So good chance Erikson and Wehrlein are out?

Hope Wherlein stays, but very unlikely. Erikson brings ingots of Swiss Gold which is hard to turn away.

Well that's not the point. Those sponsors don't make cars... so it's a bit strange. And with the historic Alfa Romeo...

Whatever, for Sauber is wonderful and will give them a good future.

He did, but now that his sponsors own the team, he's just a sunk cost. AFAIK he was part of a swedish initiative to get a swede to F1, and Longbow put a lot of money into his career. Looks like they're keeping him just to save face in Sweden.

More like RedBull when they had the Infinity link/sponsor. Which, on the other hand, it was a big chunk of cash

Although it's great that another team has a solid base. I can't help but think that it's just with the link to Ferrari and using their engines it's another team to just jump out of their way like a scalded cat when a red car appears.

Before anyone asks I know Ferrari was sold off but the link still exsists to Fiat IMHO.
