Hi all!
Besides the Renault Espace and Alfa 164 Pro-car, have you seen any other F1 engine installs in cars other than single seat open wheelers?

Mazda MXR-01 (which basicly is an Jaguar XJR-14)But given the Jaguar-Ford connection, it was a decided to utilise the 3.5 litre Ford HB V8 Formula One powerplant. Most notably used by the Benetton Formula One team, but now badged as a Jaguar, the Ford HB was detuned to about 11,500 rpm (compared to about 13,000 rpm) and aimed to produce slightly less power (about 650 bhp (485 kW) vs. around 700 bhp) with aims at enhanced reliability.
Peugeot 905 Evo 2Thus, Mazda came to the decision of buying an existing V10 engine. They turned to Judd (Engine Developments), who had developed their GV10 3.5L V10 for Formula One in 1991, and arranged a deal in which the Judd engines would be badged as Mazdas, carrying the name MV10.
That was the last time the 905 was raced and Peugeot not surprisingly turned their focus to Formula 1 as an engine supplier for McLaren in 1994. The 80-degree V10 might have faired well at Le Mans, it was rather unimpressive in F1
odd enough ?superflyte wrote: More like odd-ball cars with F1 engines...
?!?!?! I thought that engine was one of the greatest disasters in F1 history. (Though not as bad as the Life W12 . . .)marcush. wrote:Isn´t Koeniggsegg using the old Motori Moderni aka Subaru flat 12 Carlo Chiti designed for F1?

I think it was going to be called the B12, but it seems that it never has materialized.supercar.net wrote: 1999 â Koenigsegg acquired the blueprints, production tooling and patents for a 12 cylinder boxer engine constructed by the legendary engineer Carlo Chiti, who for many years was a head engineer at Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. The engine was designed to be used in formula 1 racing, a super lightweight, horsepower monster, that aim to push the Koenigsegg CC beyond the 400 Km/h limit. This engine is planned to be used in a future limited version of the CC.

They did indeed, tying to hold up the xoticar image, but I think the price and lack of power ended that when they decided to go for being the fastest car rightout.marcush. wrote:Isn´t Koeniggsegg using the old Motori Moderni aka Subaru flat 12 Carlo Chiti designed for F1?
