Obviously it's a penalty because nobody can overtake at copse...
It seems Leclerc saw what happened to Max during RF....

I think it’s shown that HAM could have positioned his car a lot more to the inside to try to avoid a touch.

It was proper racing, so for me a racing incident but I feel the majority of the blame does lie with Lewis on that accident. I think anyone who looks at it objectively can’t be too far away from that

I think Hamilton should be disqualified from this championship. Just like Schumacher in 1997 for causing a collision to his championship rival.

Fastest lap for Perez

Did RB ACTUALLY sacrifice team points to take the fastest lap point away from Lewis?
nah perez was never in top 10 position after his third stop

Disgusting.

Put the point leader into the hospital with a stupid move, and then celebrate like you earned it...
Yeah, this kind of stuff makes Merc and Ham really easy to dislike. He won, soit. Unsatisfying but it is what it is. But a bit more restraint from his side is in order.

The British Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix. Best atmospheres on the calendar bar none. Hopefully the Ditch one will be right up there when it finally happens.

Awkward.
Yeah he’s done it twice. Fancy all the crying and making yourself look an idiot (Horner) and yet it gains you nothing.
Horner and Marko have a habit of making themselves look stupid, and it makes RB really easy to dislike
Norris literally slowed down, was passed before the corner and Leclerc went off the track. Not the same thing.

Hamilton's season is littered with mistakes up to this point. Looks like he's having a hard time in a competitive environment.
When you push to the limits of what the car can do, you make mistakes. Just look at George.

Hell, look at Max in previous seasons!!
So you're saying Hamilton is no better than George and Max. Fine with me.

I don't think so, Perez was 10 seconds away from points at that time. However Tsunoda got ahead of Gasly somehow, I'm not sure how that happened.

The Austrian GP crowd was also nice. Just wasn't played up as much.

why?? there was no intent to crash you can see at the moment of braking he was alongside of max. DQ him for not turning enough and touching? how about perez last race? he punted off leclerc 2 times. no race ban or dq

Might be some interesting comparisons between the first lap incident in the Race and the same corner in the first lap of the Sprint. Relative positions of cars, position on the track at the point of turn in, position on the track at the point of impact, etc.

There'll also be some interesting stuff comparing it to the overtake on lap 50, but both cars are on empty rather than full tanks there.

Hamilton then passes as Stowe.
Exactly!

This is also my favorite tweet of all time, perhaps:
