Great find. +1 for you Halil.

IMO on this render the 14 model looks better than the 13 model.

And interesting with the V shape support pillars on the rear wing. I wonder if this is what teams will do to support the rear wing. Or of the endplates will be connected to the floor.

I think the v shape pillars steps outside the 150mm reg free zone in the middle, and so are illegal. At a smaller angle they would not oppose the rules though.

I think we'll see both solutions next year. Having the endplates attached to the floor means a little bit less drag and weight saving, but the latter can be off set by being forced to stiffen and strengthen the rear wing. Teams with a good understanding of carbon fibre layering will probably go for endplates-on-floor, while the others will want to keep it simple.

What about combining the rear wing supports and the monkey seat?

Isn't frontwing narrower for 2014?

Look at the second picture with the cars seen from behind and above.

The front wing spans more than one floor tile in the 2013 car and less than 1 tile in the 2014 car. They are indeed narrower, but only by that much.

yes but it's only 75mm per Side so it won't be too noticeable.

We discussed/are discussing all this (including the hail/smirkofff render) in the other thread (2014 design)
This thread should be about the nose.

Smirkoff nose looks too low (I think the want them as high as possible), also it looks too bulky and conventional. Nice rendering though.

They don't necessarily want them as high as possible any more though. Wanting them as high as possible is an emergent behaviour of the 2009-2013 rules. It may well be that the optimum is different under the 2014 rules.

They wanted it that high because the diffuser got largely limited. Pre 2009 the limiting factor was front downforce actually. Next year the rear will get a huge chunk of downforce removed, more then the front, so teams will want to have as high a nose as possible, because the higher the nose, the more air underneath the floor, the more rear downforce the diffuser produces. And they will be in shortage of that. Also expect more surface of the front wing to be used for airflow optimalisation towards the rear.

I doubt it.
Look at it that way:
Which 2014 Regulation Change compared to 2013 might favor a forward DF bias?
Personally I see only minor limitation at the front (slightly narrower front wing) yet signifcant limitations at the rear end:
- No Beam Wing (Besides direct DF this will noticeably influence diffuser efficiency).
- No EBD.
And all this coming from a relatively rear limited Regulation era (Narrow rear wings, wide and low front wings) anyway.

I'm not surprised. The post 2009 regs were deliberately designed to be forward DF biased anyway.

Bring on Feb/March next year!!!! i really hope there's some more variety in design, not just the front end.

The exhaust itself will generate a little thrust over the rear wheel centre line (edit: some people might call that an axle #-o).
