Both Nico and Lewis had a 1:09 in them.

And congrats to Nico for locking out the pole position trophy.

Hamilton lost at least a tenth and a half with that mistake. Pity.

Ham was well off in q2. I wonder if he took it easier to save his race tyres?

I'm fine with Lewis starting second. Lewis will be able to control his race knowing that 2nd is a "safe" place to finish and also knowing that he has the raw pace to challenge for 1st.

DRS is absolutely op on this track so if ham gets within 1s i don't see how ros can defend.

Who's the best qualifier on the grid now? Before this season I'd have said either Vettel or Lewis, now I'm inclined to say Rosberg.

I will concede that ROS is the better qualifier now.. Earlier in the season with HAM's reliability issues and the Monaco incident I may have given a slight edge to HAM, but I'm ok with ROS taking the qualifying trophy as long as Lewis wins the WDC!! :D

I still think Lewis without a doubt although he has 'disappointed' this season in terms of poles. I expected more but maybe Lewis focuses more on the race, as Rosberg was reporting using too much of his rears in Q1. For now this theory is correct based on the last few races, let's see how it pans out tomorrow.

I stand corrected! Good for Felipe in front of his home crowd. Perhaps he is running less DF than BOT to impress his home crowd, plus he knows this track super well so he can get away with it.

exactly my thoughts. and that last lap has really shown he can dominate tomorrow. he'll be able to do precisely what he did in austin or monza. wait, be on the chase, pressure nico to make the tiniest mistake, and then just check the mirror every once in a while. plus, there's a good chance for rain which is definitely his forte. i'm not worried.
