I don’t see why it be a matter of concern, it wasn’t a key sponsor… They don’t have to add one immediately either.
It is just weird to me that it was intended as a multi year contract, which ended in one season.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 16:20I don’t see why it be a matter of concern, it wasn’t a key sponsor… They don’t have to add one immediately either.

Could be different microphones, but it definitely sounds less "clean"BlueCheetah66 wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 20:39Does anyone else think that sounds quite different to last years engine
On which day?
It is weird, wonder what could have driven it… Maybe a better sponsor coming in or simply it wasn’t a good fit (or the sponsor couldn’t keep their commitments in terms of payment)… Weird? Yes… Worrying? Not so much (in my opinion).proteus wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 20:38It is just weird to me that it was intended as a multi year contract, which ended in one season.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 16:20I don’t see why it be a matter of concern, it wasn’t a key sponsor… They don’t have to add one immediately either.
Echo this, odd yes but not worrying. Given the placement of their sticker I doubt was a big paying sponsor anyhow! It is surprising no new sponsors announced for McLaren yet…..albeit Zak has built up a huge portfolio with already limited space left ……who’d have thought that after 2015-18 and the load of blank spaceSmallSoldier wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 23:01It is weird, wonder what could have driven it… Maybe a better sponsor coming in or simply it wasn’t a good fit (or the sponsor couldn’t keep their commitments in terms of payment)… Weird? The next step would have to be a colour change and less 'small adds'ScottR267 wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 00:59Echo this, odd yes but not worrying. I’m not sure if less “small” sponsors is ideal nowadays… That’s something that Zak brought to the team and it may minimize the risk of losing an sponsor… With several small ones, if one leaves, it isn’t the end of the world and considering that the smaller sponsors are probably paying small amounts (compared to larger sponsors), it opens up the universe of potential sponsors… Not a bad strategyBig Tea wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 01:10The next step would have to be a colour change and less 'small adds'ScottR267 wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 00:59Echo this, odd yes but not worrying. It makes total sense - how many times has a big team like McLaren or Williams fallen down the order after losing a big sponsor like Vodafone, HP, Mercedes, BMW and Big Tobacco?SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 03:56I’m not sure if less “small” sponsors is ideal nowadays… That’s something that Zak brought to the team and it may minimize the risk of losing an sponsor… With several small ones, if one leaves, it isn’t the end of the world and considering that the smaller sponsors are probably paying small amounts (compared to larger sponsors), it opens up the universe of potential sponsors… Not a bad strategy
