I realise we're a long way in to this regulation phase, but it seems like an unnecessary risk to have the shakedown the day before testing. Doesn't give any time for remediation on anything but the most simplistic issue.

James Allison:
“Our primary focus has been on dialling out the W15’s slight reluctance to turn in slow corners, along with the imbalance in tyre temperatures that made the car inconsistent from session to session,”

“That focus has led to changes to nearly every visible aerodynamic surface, new front suspension, and further changes under the skin of the W16 to remedy some of the more challenging characteristics of its predecessor.”

“We are pleased with our progress over the winter and we’re looking forward to finding out where we stack up against everyone else.

Kinda Crazy that McLaren and Ferrari took bold risks when Mercedes went towards a vastly more conservative approach, similar to what Redbull did with their RB19.

What bold risks have they taken? Asking sincerely as I’m just getting caught up with all the launches. Thank you!

No problem! So Ferrari went with a New Pull-Rod front suspension and the sidepod has the same winglet on top of the sidepod inlet like the McLaren last year and the new rear wing design is similar to the Mclaren's also. The McLaren went extreme anti-dive on the Front Suspension (Not Sure about Anti-Dive on the rear suspension) and the Sidepod is now a P-Shape like last year's Mercedes and Alpine.

Ferrari switched to a pullrod front suspension for the first time in years. McLaren appears to have put in an extreme new front suspension with anti-dive pushed to the max though unclear just how radical it is until we see more of the car.

Thank you very much for the concise summary. Much appreciated.

Many thanks for the info. Now I know what to look for when catching up on the launch photos for those cars.

Safe is a good thing for this team, at least for the first third/half. The entire g/e era has been a swing-and-a-miss with the whacky ideas.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.
