it is in the silly season thread...
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Wow, when Kubica crashes he really goes all out. My best wishes go out to him. Get well soon and use that R31!

I am sure somewhere, someone in Renault back-office is tasked with thinking of such matters, but the rest of us, why don't we choose to try to act with just a modicum of propriety.

No disrespect is meant, its just logical that a replacement will be needed for a certain period of time. And it will be just that, a temporary replacement. He'll return eventually, at least that's what we're all hoping.

Kubica was doing what he enjoyed, that's the important part in all this. Sometimes what you enjoy is dangerous.

If I'm not mistaken he hasn't signed yet for IndyCar.

We could discuss his results with Torro Rosso.
Major problem with Bourdais would be the fact if the car suits him or not.
I don't see it happening, but it would be great to see him back in an F1 car. Seems like you either really fit in at STR or really don't.

Either way, this is awful news. Robert, please get well soon.

Surgery lasted 7 hours.
Prognosis expected in the next 5-7 days.
Early estimate is one year of rehabilitation.

Next 7 days crucial to have a clear understanding of the actual neurological and vascular status of the hand.
At best, if all goes well, the rehabilitation will likely take about a year.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed then for Kubica to recover fully and for R32 to be a true predator in 2012.

1 year sounds about right, and depending on the nature of the hand injuries, it will never be quite the same ever again. I hate to say this, but I believe his F1 days are done. For his sake, I truly hope there is no onset of infection in the next few days.

That explains the injuries to his right side when he was sitting on the left side of the car.

However, Armco isn't supposed to behave like that which raises a few questions....
