Yeah that was unfortunate. This car doesn't seem to have those issues. Only worry is the ground clearance at T3 exit. RB will want to be running very low but might be limited by the compression there.

Apologies if this has been discussed already or should be posted elsewhere due to its speculative nature. Regarding the theory of a valve to release pressure under the floor of the RB19...

I notice in this video that Adrian Newey's Valkyrie has just such a valve to bleed off downforce (and drag).

See 5.20 in this video:



Could Red Bull somehow be using what is asumed to be purely a damper above the T-Tray to release this pressure? - note the air vent attached to the top of the device:

Even if this is not the mechnism, I'm intrigued as he may have wanted to replicate this bleed-off function via other means.

I like the detail on the brake outlet ducts.
That's interesting. You would think the air would enter the front facing duct and exit through the other side of the wheel. It seems some of that hot air is being used aerodynamically downstream.

Yes typically they are trying to push the tire squirt away from the diffuser with the various flicks on the brake tin.

Interesting detail on the wing mirror stays; the vertical section next to the cockpit has aero section (not a surprise) directing airflow towards the drivers shoulders (in-washing, I guess).

As pointed out by AR3-GP in team thread, RB DRS advantage returns but for the first time in high dwf config

From the telemetry you can see on non-DRS straights RB does not gain much compared to others. But on DRS straights there is about 5km/h advantage for RB - similar to what happens with their other downforce levels.

Zandvoort (post-beamwing update) compared with Hungary (pre-update) - all cars compared have unchanged aerodynamic configs apart from the beamwing change

Did anyone notice.......please mods, if you feel inappropriate located here, move this......the RB19 during initial phase of laps after race restart and while FA was close behind, as the RB was flat out it pushed a huge plume of spray ouf the sides into big bulging volume of outwash (noted before on forum, with pictures too) BUT as soon as MV hit the brakes hard the plume switched off almost in it's entirety as the chassis floor lifted at rear, then appearing as a domed plume just under the rear wing and exit of the diffuser ?

Visible in fast section after first banking, but more clearly viewed approach to turn one at full race speed, about two laps after release from pace car. A very clear switch of airflow pattern from pushing out the side to "full bore" under floor and out diffuser exit. Not kicked high into the air after change either, almost as if all exit airflow is contained in diffuser "mouth" and layed back onto track surface.

It looks like the same as last year (in relative terms). So no true dinner plate wing like many others.

As they did last year and ended up with higher DF wing. Strange they didn't want to invest in developing a specific Monza wing.
