This used tyres had maybe 5 warm up turns on them. And what a beautiful drift :) .

P2 for Norris until the error. It happens frequently for him now that he's at the front

Our race pace is much better and we should be able to clean up the field. Hopefully Oscar wont get penalized by the stewards since they are so lenient on Golden Boy Max. Anyway. Let's give it all to our race. Take 2 and 3 tomorrow and I am confident this winter that our team will build a car that will set up the pace for once.

Someone mentioned before that Mclaren has a Low DF Set up weakness as also the low speed corners weakness and if they fix this they are gonna find a lot of time and improve their tyre wear. How much time do you think that might give them?

Lando is still favourite for 2nd tomorrow. He didn't look like he would get 1st after sector 2. But, he gave it a go.

Another for the Lando mistake brigade....

Probably pushing a bit much, though Oscar also yellow in p3, did he make a mistake aswell?

Lando was down on Max after s2, so understand why he was pushing.
Well they are an accurate and recurring point and a hindrance to his performance this year and a worry for next so it's valid if people talk about it.

IMO It was very very close but he had legitimate chances for P1 until the error.

Of course it's valid.

I want to see him under more pressure, and see how he does.

I can understand pushing with no real pressure. And I don't think many have been pressure mistakes, just trying too hard, especially today's.

I hope we can get into a battle position to see how he tempers it.

Oscar's p3 not safe due to blocking someone.

Guys...maybe to be funny but I had a feeling 🤣🤣 Last evening I was thinking at something: at Jerez in 1997 Mika was without a win in F1 and there was some fun on him. Same is with Lando.
But that race was Mika's first win in F1 and for McLaren, and next year he fought and won also his first F1 title.
And my feeling wast that Abu Dhabi will be the first win for Lando. And next year he will fight for F1 title 🙈🙈🙈

And I checked something now: do you know starting position for Mika after Jerez qualifying? Yup, P5.

I wait for tomorrow because is a long race and a red flag, a safety car, some errors may change everything.

Let's go 🧡🧡

Totally agree and no doubt it’s going to be talked about from now up until the next race.
What concerns me is the pyramid of performance is going to close the grid up more and more so those last tenths the Verstappens and Hamilton’s of the world can consistently deliver get rewarded with the titles….

He was down after sector 2, I don't know what ne needed to get for s3, and if he had been that first at all.

Though maybe Lando is taking the most out of the car, but pushing for more. And those mistakes are mainly due to pushing to far.

He could probably have settled for a comfy second today. And, if, he was in more of a battle a comfy second would have been fine. But, what's the point of settling on the final race.
