According to Omnicorse, Mclaren mp4-29's butterfly suspension is creating some sort of overheating at the back of the car, by blocking the hot air at some degree. Apparently Mclaren's designers are working hard to find a solution at the overheating while keeping the innovative suspension on the car.

Overheating can't be that bad, they've just done a complete Race Simulation.

The overheating shouldn't affect the running of the car. From what I make of it they're more worried about the integrity of several components beyond the heat exits, and potential failures because of it. I could be reading it wrong though.

Also think about the performance of the big round black things on the corner of the car, if they're not kept in the optimum window it'll affect performance...
