I contend that overtaking was no more frequent in the so called "old days" that it is today or ever, go back and watch old races and you will see. When you have the worlds top class drivers, overtaking is extremely difficult because mistakes are rare. I wish F1 would show some self confidence in its own product and history that alone sells.
sure DRS is gimmicky, but it works to overcome the issues with aerodynamic turbulence, how often do you see a car overtake using DRS that wasn't quicker?
