Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

What's version 2 packaging? You mean RB10-b? There isn't and will not be any such thing. Newey said if they were to go by those standards RB8 should be called RB8-D at the end of 2012.

It really does look like a mess. I remember RBs of the past having internal components laid down like bricks in perfect harmony.

I'm not sure why you're say that there "will not be any such thing". I'm not saying there will be whole new car but surely there will be a revised design that incorporates all the "fixes" in a more elegant way.

has Newey implied that will not be the case? In any case, I don't really care what you label it.

Yes, it seems so. In the upper right corner of the picture we can see from the right a part of the exhaust (wastegate hose?), a rectangular cooling tube and then the charge air tube coming from the turbo.
Similar to the lotus the cool charge air should be going to the intake somewhere left of the big, black, ribbed surface above the intercooler.

Well...take the cabels and hoses away which are just there for venting some fluids and it looks rather tidy I think. If you say these well sorted, parallel hoses are a mess, then you should not look at the zip tie artwork in the F1AT or the hose-salad in the MP4...
Doesn't Redbull also have a vanity plate to cover the hoses like Merc? Because this is the first picture of this side open?

Wow if they didn't forget to assemble something then it's a hell of a crash structure. Well done!

That almost looks to high to be legal, and the crash structures looks to thin as well.

It's a fake nose IMO. An old one without camera. They just removed the crash structure.

By the looks of it it's hard to believe. But if it's the real thing then this is one massive improvement to underbody flow.

Why would they do that for scrutineering? (Where I assume the car is going to/has just been).

Has no-one noticed it's also missing the keel section of the nose... It's just the vanity panel section IMO and being used for push around
