Lol indeed. It makes me wonder sometimes who izzy thinks he is talking to. His intuition is weak, maybe he can google a bit to cover it up.

[aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa]

As expected there's no downward trend in Germany, that'll take a bit more time ...

+3725 new cases, consistent with Friday and Monday, a lot higher than the numbers from the weekend

Since quoting scientific findings is strictly forbidden around here i'll stick to hard numbers ...

Did they report the cases on time? That alone was responsible for a few of the earlier "low" numbers on some sites. They just missed the GMT deadline when the sites were updated.

It's interesting to see Carey publicly stating that F1 and its partners fully expect the season to start at some point this summer with a full season of racing, but with fewer than 22 races.

Maybe something like 15 or whatever.

That seems awfully optimistic to me. Look at the Euro Cup and the Olympics...both have been shut down b/c this thing will be nowhere close to wrapped up "some time this summer."

I mentioned this in my previous post

The RKI data (by their own [admission]) lags behind because they wait until that data has gone through all the official channels and that may take some time, local health authorities also don't work on weekends so the data will always be a bit off
In general the actual numbers will be a bit skewed, a few slipping into the next day etc but they still give a decent overview i think...

The trouble with young people today is that with our so called smart phones we do actually know everything
Er, no. The trouble is that people believe everything they read on their smartphones. That's a very different thing indeed.

The smartphone is the single biggest facilitator of lies, half-truths, rumours, and downright dangerous misinformation.
if you've grown up with a phone and internet then you've always had multiple sources and comments, you just corroborate everything automatically. It's much more of a problem if you grew up with one daily newspaper and BBC news so now that's not so natural
That's just not true. Look at how many people share total rubbish emails, Facebook posts etc., that are absolutely untrue and that can be shown to be so with a minimum of research. It's in their feed so it's taken as fact and posted on to others.

Then there are the Wikipedia people. You know, look at Wikipedia for any and all answers.

The smartphone has made people less able to research and assess information, not more able.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

generally the people i know use their phones fantastically well. we never drive anywhere without google maps running, spotify playing, getting notified. It reroutes us round jams and accidents, shows queues and speed limits Every news item comes in on google news with its fact checker or loads of other sources. We measure sound, light, heartrate, acceleration, distance, angle, we take photos and video, and whenever someone wonders about something - anything - we don't have to suppose or guess or have pointless arguments we just look it up! Several of us can look something up and get the same results or different. Right now i'm casting an awesome gig to our tv, from my phone

Wikipedia isn't always right but it's right most of the time, always being edited and updated and most of the articles have references

But it is all power as i said and it has slightly reduced the positive value of being older, with depending that bit less on memory. imo it's helped make us more empathetic, with helping us tune in to other people and species. And when i watch an F1 race i use 2 or 3 together for live timing, plus a laptop and tv :)

oh perfect! So that is your personal memory, and this is a google search about it
https://www.google.com/search?q=is+expe ... ry+limited

and the first result is
Memory of Experts - Psychology at FSUpsy.fsu.edu › faculty › ericssonk › ericsson.mem.exp.html
by LTW Memory - ‎Related articles
More remarkable is the experts' accurate memory for new experiences
and later it tells us:
Recent research on expertise is making it increasingly clear that the vast knowledge of experts has to be well organized and supplemented with special memory skills so as to support memory-demanding planning, design, and reasoning.

see? so then we can use the same process to find out about F1 and the prospect of races this year, in a new and super reliable way. A few of us have been doing that already i think

This is just one of those things that makes you wonder why he hasn't been fired long ago..............
“He [Max] told me on the phone he was terrified of getting the virus,” Marko said.

“The best thing would be if he got infected now, he’s 22, it’s not at a high risk and he would be in a better place for the run to the title later being already immune.”

To the upper mgmt folks of RB and TR (now AT), drivers are just the piece of equipment that connects the steering wheel to the throttle/brake pedal. When this "piece of equipment" under performs...replace it. Still incredibly callous in these times.

that is not what the original interview is saying ..... like at all, not 1 word about Max Verstappen.

but from planetf1 you can't expect anything else ....

the full translated interview in "Krone Zeitung"
"Krone": How do you experience this dramatic time?
Helmut Marko: No people on the streets, hardly any cars. We have closed the hotels, there is no income. Nobody had such a scenario in view with all the economic risks.

You spoke about an inflated discussion a week ago.
Did you change that mind?

You should take a closer look at certain things. In the park, three people are warned by law enforcement officers - people in the supermarket are fighting for goods, are standing in packs at the cash register.
What if you looked into a glass ball?
I cannot imagine that the economy will last for a long time despite the aid packages. Corona has shown us drastically how vulnerable our economic system is to globalization. You also have to be careful that the mood in the population does not change.
Helmut, you are 76 years old - are you afraid?
No, if you survive Dubai Airport, where people cough and spit in a confined space, then I, as a person of the so-called high-risk group, will not let my life be completely restricted.

What is your everyday life like?
I'm in the office from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
then I go into the forest and do three hours of forestry work. I'm in great shape, I'm really good.
How long will Corona keep us under control?
Look, luckily we have very good medical care, I just take extreme care that I don't injure myself with the chainsaw and have to go to the hospital, which is certainly the most dangerous place at the moment. I hope that the spook after Easter will be significantly less.
And life quickly returns to a certain normal.
Will Formula 1 still start this year?
I see an opportunity for Baku, Canada looks good too. Until then, hopefully things have calmed down in Europe. I expect 17 or 18 races.

Your personal wish?
Hopefully it will start soon, and the population can take new courage through major positive events.

A group at Oxford and Kings Universities have designed and prototyped a simple ventilator in a week. It’s very simple, not like the specialist ventilators in ICU wards. It’s been presented to the U.K. decision makers. I wonder how long they will need to make a decision?
