The 2013 cars had more grip on corner exit due to EBD but the 2014 cars make more power, accelerate quicker and have a higher top speed.
Referring back to Reca's excellent post on page 6:
You can see the 2013 car makes the vast majority of the time in one section of high speed corners.
They then make back time on the initial acceleration out of corners which is always lost again by the end of braking for the next corner.
You also have to bear in mind that even though the 2013 cars carry more speed through the corners by the end of every straight they are travelling slower.
Therefore the 2014 cars must make more power than those of 2013.
Interestingly the 2014 cars make time back on everybody under braking.
