FP3 is far more important this year though, considering the reserve order rule, so I guess we might end up seeing representative qualifying times in FP3 quite often.

Then take your pick from Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Williams; Force India and McLaren possibly a bit behind this group, but very close together!

I'm quite positive. We could have some great fights in the midfield, and Mercedes are not miles away.

very impressive lap times from alonso i think mclaren is on torro rosso level ....little back from red bull....probably red bull car is the best and can win but no with this engine ..with ferrari 2016 engine red bull can beat mercedes....force india is around this group with williams the best of the rest and very very close to ferrari .....ferrari is not the best ...still behind silver arrows little closer but clear behind.....

practice..... how about you wait a couple hours till after qualifying before you pat yourself on the back lol.... More than likely Mercedes will activate the old Quali mode... what does the Ferrari new Quali mode look like? .. Torro Rosso will be more than likely between 6th and 10th. you do have to keep in mind that Sainz did his run on a more rubbered in track about 15 mins Ferrari had ran and about 10 mins after Mercedes did their quali sim.

interesting Vettel lost 2 tenths in sector 3 which happens to be where he had a pretty big lockup at the second to last corner.
he was faster than hamilton in sector 2 and .050 slower in sector 1 . is Quali here yet? =D>

I might be out on a limb here, but i wouldnt be surprised if Mercedes hasnt shown their hand yet. To be fair, probably neither Ferrari, but IMO the big question is how much more they can irk out with the engine in qualy mode.

I'll say it again; with the grid perhaps maybe being closest again since 2 seasons, what a damn pitty it would be to have that new qualy mode ruin a genuine close competition....
