Well, if they're serious about returning to the top within the next 5 years, the shareholders have to show consistent financial commitment, which on paper, should be 2019-2020, before the budget cap kicks in. The gap to the top is huge, unsurprisingly. Red Bull have kept up with the top 2 as a customer because of their financial muscle. Even if more money comes in, I hope the shareholders keep it flowing from their end. Mclaren are not just fighting an uphill task against the manufacturers, but also against the smaller teams around them. Racing point will get a financial boost from their new owners, while Haas, STR, and Sauber are B teams, maxing out on listed parts.
