Any predictions as to what kind of qualifying times we'll see tomorrow?

Anyone think they'll break into the 53's?

Never felt so much anticipation before! It's hard tracking all the teammate wars going on!
Split and sector times seem even more important now.
For Sure!!

It tells everything, Williams clearly has a better aero efficency that enables them to run lower wing settings.Lotus and Virgin are evenly matched.Probably HRT will join them tomorrow once they start their setup program for finding a good balance.

How about Mercedes powered cars? Should be more interesting

Track will be improving trough the sessions( less dust, more rubber ), so you can count on 53's, maybe even very low 53's, but i don't espect 52's. We'll see...

I did this out of curiosity more than anything else, but I averaged the finishing positions of both the drivers of one team, for both FP sessions, results are:

4.25 McLaren
5.5 MGP
5.5 Ferrari
8.5 Fi
10.5 Renault
11 RBR
11.5 Williams
14 Sauber
16 STR
19.5 Lotus
20.5 Virgin
23.25 HRT

I wonder how close that will be to the race results. I know RBR had a few issues, and Fi is suspected of doing some low fuel runs that would have helped their #'s. Figured I’d share it even though it probably doesn’t mean much of anything.

I remember the start of last year, when Rosberg and Williams were setting blistering times in practice, yet failed to translate those quick times into points. This year it will be different, where Schumacher and Brawn will make sure Rosberg's quick practice times hold up during the race, and he places the car in the points.

It appears the three new teams are in a class by themselves.... sadly about 4 to 5 seconds back of the rest. We should start a pool to see how well these three teams fare amongst themselves.

Quick question.. who is one of the toughest drivers to pass? Trulli, he is famous for leading trains. Now that he's in a slower car, it's worth watching to see if he impedes anyone. Lots of F1 rookies too, They may wreak havoc with the fast cars because they have no experience in being passed in Formula One.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I doubt any of the back markers will hold people up for long, for one thing if they're getting passed it's because they're being put a lap down, or if by some miracle they happen to qualify higher than their competitors.

Going by the vision from FP1 & 2, if you get caught behind someone in that long 2nd sector.. its almost impossible to find a way thru.

Alonso was stuck behind Senna at one stage for almost the whole sector.. and there were plenty of instances of some awkward attempts at overtaking thru there, only to have the door shut by the new guys.

I sure hope the track reverts to the original layout next year.

I'm entirely puzzled why they didn't change the sector-divisions at all either.
Two ~30s sectors split by a 60+s one? Really?...

In Trulli's defence, he is really famous for leading trains yes, but I hardly remember any occasions when he was actually blocking his opponents against the rules; if the others were unable to overtake, either because of current F1 cars' aero, lack of places to overtake in current F1 tracks or simply because they were quicker but not quicker enough, surely this isn't Trulli's fault: it's all in the game!

As far as for the rookies' lack of experience in being passed in F1, well, it looks like they might have the opportunity to gain quite a lot of experience in that pretty soon!!!
