World cup is a festivity of Football, not nationalism.
National pride is a byproduct of Football, It explains why the Italy vs France game in 2006 final attracted around a billion viewers, I aint French or Italian, I still watched and was tentative for the whole 120 minutes.

Just a game....

So why is it that these 'national' teams are nowhere near as good as the pro teams that play in the countries concerned?
National teams are only allowed to practice if it is allowed by the money people who run national leagues. The national players only get a minimum of such practice as teams so where is the sporting relevence?
I cant see it.

When could you ever see a North Korean player in the premiership?
And since when would other countries have to put up with other leagues as the mainstay?
Nope, World Cup makes sense because it pits David against Goliath and is the sole platform for a player to cement their greatness.
Zidane Ronaldo Maradona Eusebio Cryuff Pele Garincha, all easily greats all cemented their greatness on the greatest stage of all.

I thought you were singling out North Korean footballers and saying they were not good enough for some premiership thing.

So what exactly would a multi cultural or multi national team represent?
Some weird ideology about how humans play a kids ball game for no purpose?
IMO they should remove the location name from all football teams who pretend to represent a City or geographical area. The whole thing no longer has any meaning.

What does an F1 team represent? The name of people who died years ago?
Some weird ideology about how humans race their little toy carts around for no purpose?
IMO you should stop commenting on things you clearly cannot comprehend. Most of your posts no longer have any meaning.

I'll tell you one thing for free - the Persians can have their bagpipes back. Ruddy awful din! As for kilts, I can't take any bloke in a skirt seriously, no matter what they call it!

They did that in Glasgow so I can guarantee that thse English bloke have never been sen since. That sort of this is a crime punishable by dunking. If you float, your hung but on the pluss side if you sink, your innocent.

I see England didn't have the decency to loose but us lot look at it this way. The longer England stay in the World Cup, the harder it'll be on them when they getting booted out, and the harder us lot will laugh after enduring weeks of their shamless self promotion.

They will!

Germany beats Ghana 1:0 and Australia beats Serbia 2:1

Germany will make mincemeat of England. The English don't have the Americans to dig them out of a hole this time!

I have watched this game today and I'm not so confident that the German team is good enough. I have not watched the English yet, but that will change.
