All 2011 cars are illegal

I assume that all cars are designed to meet the current tests and anything beyond that is sub-optimal. Hence changing any test will require a re-design.

ps - All trays flex. Even HRT.

In the context of "all cars are illegal", we'll not suddenly see onerous rules requiring all cars to redesign stiffer trays and stiffer wings. They may tweak how they apply the test to see if it catches anyone doing something silly, but the overall deflection will stay the same to avoid a redesign for all teams.

Personally I think "reserve the right" is a much better rule that the mythical perfection.

that works on the principle that the legal cars are illegal under the hypothetical test.
Im pretty sure they would remain legal....
More could have been done.

We don't know what illustration was shown to Whiting.

In its most creative form, the "see saw" splitter shows no signs of anything being illegal even if the car is completely disassembled. It is all about flexing and bending which can only be detected by an appropriate test.
