Interesting, they told the same thing to Pato earlier in the session too. This is the first low downforce track since Baku. Maybe running some tests to see how much they have lost on the straights without DRS now that the wing was forced to be changed?

And they didin't even investigate t1, lap1, simply because it was t1, lap 1, which shoulden't be.

For such a high caliber organization, the stewards are a mess.

When will things change? After a driver, God forbid, gets maimed or killed?

Kudos for Max for getting away with it, simply because he knows he can. But one day, the stars will align, and...

Simple. As this kind of driving is legal one day either one of the current drivers or the next generation will come to F1 and there will be a driver driving exactly like that but on a team opposite to Max and Red Bull. Suddenly Max will be facing a clone of him driving exactly the same way. Mathematically it's bound to happen. Are they gonna continue treating it as hard driving with the same energy?

Was this for all laps? Or have they used DRS since?

The next lap the mesaage was "DRS is ok to use". So only for one lap the no drs instruction.

Impressive job from Pato. Watching also the onboards and he is speaking so well with the pit, asking for feedback, proposing some approach in lap deploy. What a driver!

What’s he saying?
His long run at the end of FP1 was terrible

He was asked if he wants a new go on soft tire or to switch to continous laps. He said "I don't know to be honest. It still feels terrible!"

Oh right, yea heard that.
Looks like they need some set up changes again, he certainly didn’t look quick in that particular session

It's interesting how always the guys that come here and claim everyone agrees with the ruling have their most active topic a Red Bull one. I wonder why?
It's not a claim, it literally was 98% of everyone .. even Kravitz. And the consequence comes through ruling, so let's not word-salad ..

But what I said is not pissing about the ruling, and they absolutely should have the right to appeal .. except it brings the wrong energy to the team, even if they might have a point. For instance, I always found the power of Stella his silence, and silently deliver way more than even expected.
It's way more powerful than to blend in with Horner and Toto.
And why I say that is that I genuinely hope McL can have a serious dab at de WDC. Engineering over TP drama queens ..
They deserve a title, if only for stamina reasons !
What is missed by almost every single pundit and journalist is the bit that says “The car being overtaken must be capable of making the corner while remaining within the limits of the track.” The use of the word “must” is very deliberate and leaves no room for interpretation.

By this logic Max should have received a penalty no question asked. Ergo Lando was forced off track and had no choice (even backing out would probably have caused an accident) and should not receive a penalty. He was so far alongside thinking the overtake was done which, and let’s be honest, if Max drove in a way that allowed him to stay on track it would have been done that he would have been ahead anyway.

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files ... elines.pdf
I don't think that was missed. The stewards have explained that Max would have indeed got a 5s penalty and Lando a 10s penalty, they simply did the math and dished out 5s to Lando.
