I'm looking forward to starting to see the truth of everything over the next few days, everything to this point is just conjecture from most sources, some of which will be right, as much as through luck as anything else.

Maybe we held a lot back and no one knows. Or maybe someone else did. The moment of truth is arriving.

The track seems very slippery. Little I watched Lando (and many others) were catching slides every corner.

"Too early to read into times."
"Based on testing we feel we will be competitive this weekend."
"This car was primarily developed in the last wind tunnel - we moved into new wind tunnel after the break - so new tunnel will be for the upgrades."
"I think it will be second part of the year when we will feel at maximum potential." (he was talking about new signings).

Sky- he said car was developed on old tunnel with parts to come from the new one. Not expecting the new structures and signings work till later in season.

Did say experts them to be competitive this weekend.

Unclear as these are not the conditions that they'll face in qualifying and the race.

Thanks. I was aware the new tunnel was switched on around the time of Zandvoort and that the MCL60 would not have any tunnel time after that. I'm surprised that the parts going in from late August onwards are the upgrades.

It surprised me as well. I guess lead times for F1 cars are really long and this time it was even worse because I guess it is hard to really switch over from one tunnel to other.

Could mean that the new upgrades are as good as they were last year.

On the Autosport forum Rodlamas mentioned that Lando did his time in a race mode. Possibly others used race mode as well but just wanted to share.

"Helmet camera on Norris onboard shows that on his 32.9 lap he is using Strat 5 (high race mode). Qual mode is Strat 2. And of course there are all submodes that are not easy to know."

Nothing much to decipher from FP1, due to its unrepresentative nature, but a bit noteworthy is the strong S2, even without the stopwatch, looked visibly tidy.
