OK guys,
I did not get quite done today but want some beer now.
On Linux everything works. Tomorrow I will package and test on Windows. Then everything will get released. Chris only has small modifications to do with the rule book, so I guess he will get done as well.
For the release tomorrow the rotated radiators will not work. I hope to get this sorted out well in advance to the first race.

This is the calender:

Monaco
July 9 - July 23
Nürburgring
August 13 - August 27
Sepang
September 17 - October 1
Sao Paulo
October 22 - November 5
Le Mans
November 26 - December 10

As I wanted to give you at least 4 weeks time after the rulebook and software get released, I might shift it back a bit.

Thank you!!!

So, the first two races are "high df tracks" and the last three "high efficiency", am I right?

Maybe JJR or TF, I only won the cooling competition.

PS: yes, Sepang is an efficiency track

Sepang is kinda in the middle, isn't it?

yes, but more "efficency oriented"

Hi, I have two questions for LDVH:

1) Will the porous media properties change this year?
2) Will the required cooling flow (3.0 m^3/s) and the relation with the engine power change?

Yes

No

And sorry, I did not get quite done today. As I will move to a new office tomorrow it might take two days now.

Hi guys,
the software works but I have discovered an OpenFOAM issue.
I worked hard today and found something, I hope that when I arrive in my office tomorrow, the over night simulations prove successful.
Anyways there are good chances for two new sponsors! With their help the challenge will turn to more what I envision.

My recommendation for you guys is to make sure you have a working version of OpenFOAM 1606+. You might remember that it was not easy to install in the first place (on Windows) and (again on Windows) too many updates might cause issues as Matteo pointed out a few days ago. On this front I am also working on a solution. Recent news about OF and Windows might mean that things will get very easy quite soon. Yet, I recommend to have a running OF 1606+ ready for when we get going in a few days.

Sit tight, I am almost there.

Hi, my advice is to avoid upgrading to Windows Creators Update.

I could solve the VirtualBox issues with some tricks during the installation, but I could do nothing with the docker issue.

The good news is that if you installed the Creators Update, to come back to the previous windows release is quite easy.

Alternatively, you can build a Linux Virtual Machine and simply use the Linux version of VFlow...

New sponsors? I like this. I am thinking about the prize for the new challenge. I have to decide between two options: a single big prize or two/three smaller ones (absolute winner, intro class, special prize...).

Well please don't take too long. I have not published the new page but right now it says you will have the same prize as last year. Anyways I can even change it later. It is good to hear that you will once more have something for the best car(s).

My simulations last night were not successful. Using more accurate numerical schemes is giving me more grieve than I expected. If things stay bad we might have to remain where we were last year. I just do not understand why it is so bad.

Hi which are (or could be) the news about the numerical schemes?

Who would care to explain what is going on here with these results? which is best and why?

I will explain what I have done.

I created a simple model of a box with the same dimensions as the width and length in the rule book and then cut out the diffuse volume. from there I have created 4 simple diffusers (A, B, C and D)
from there I have put them through a quick test in MWFlow and these are the results.

Should I run a test with the diffuser volume filled in as a comparison test to see if the simple body I have created is or is not causing lift at the back?
