Some statistics before Suzuka. Lando and Mika =D>

Тhis is crazy, by end of the season, he will be the leader of that statistics with 151 starts for Mclaren :wtf:
Yup. Is true what also mwillems said, that now we have 22-24 races in a season vs 16 on Mika's years, but same is everywhere, also in football is hard to compare a player from 70's who played 30 games per year with a today player who may reach 70-80.
I hope by the end of the year to have for Lando 151 starts with McLaren and 1 drivers world championship :) It will be crazy to have a championship fight between Lando and Oscar

Some data from today FP courtesy to Formula Data Analysis:

1)AERO CHARACTERISTICS
McL quickest thanks to unmatched downforce: 1-2 in Sector 2, NOR quickest in Sector 3 (who had the most margin, too!)
McL: highest downforce
Alpine: lowest drag
Ferrari/Mercedes: medium load
Image

2)BEST SECTORS
LEC quickest in S1 (gaining on the main straight)
NOR quickest in the rest of the lap
ANT was as slow in S1/2 as he was quick in S3!
Image

3)IDEAL LAPS
Not only was NOR the quickest, he also had the most margin in the pocket! (Next: LEC and GAS)
The ideal lap (1:27.726) is already over 4 tenths quicker than last year's pole
The pole is McLaren's to lose;

Good FP1 & FP2

Wasnt it said that if a car works good in Suzuka it will be good almost everywhere?

Cars are more sensitive than ever to temps, surface grip and bumps, so not so much in this formula. But in terms of corner types it does test the car well.

But as we know, drop or raise the track temps and a great car can be average.

it was clear from the sector times that Oscar and Lando were running different setups. If the team indeed chooses Lando's high DF setup 1) it had better rain 2) if its dry, we had better lock out the front row because passing anyone will be super hard with high DF and wake turbulence, even with a 0.5 sec margin

They both looked better in FP2, all things considered. I'm not entirely sure, I didn't see a mistake from Lando in sector 3, so I felt he lifted a bit. Prior to that he was on a pretty quick lap, looked like he would have been P1.
No mistake he lifted, he was 0.5 up before he aborted the lap.

So far so good, fingers crossed it stays the same trough the weekend as well. [-o<
Not quite 0.5, but close. He lifted off because he didn't have a good last chicane. If he didn't lift, he would still improve and probably go P1 by a small margin again. To clarify, his last chicane was just not as good as his previous fastest lap, where he absolutely nailed it, because it wasn't horrible per se.

True. I selected fastest laps, I didn't realise Lando dropped time at the end of his second fastest lap. Mighty.

Thanks for the clarification as from the TV point of view, it looked like he did just lifted up ...

McLaren are on another planet compared to the field right now, what a beast of a car. I would say looking from the onboards of FP1 that they really dialed in the setup for FP2, much less unstable. I expect pole by 4-5 tenths easily as of now.

Dominant is 8 tenth. We are the fastest, yes, but 1 to 2 tenth in most sessions is as close as possible. One mistake, and the podium is gone.

On another note what are we going to do with the grass fires? We dont want red flags tomorrow or safety cars due to grass fires.

Yes but imo the merc, redbull and ferrari are all good cars. They may complain but that's only because they can see in mclaren that better is possible!

That will put the word dominant to bed lol

Mistake from Oscar in S1 otherwise he'd have taken pole.

We will have strong race pace.

Wow, great lap by Verstappen. Great job. Norris and Piastri did good laps but needed just a little bit more. Piastri probably had enough for pole but lost it in the first sector.

Will be a fun race tomorrow. From what I read Verstappen has lower downforce so should be weaker in tyre management.

It depends if he can keep the clean air, but we should have enough, the car is slightly faster in the race than Q.
