I think single beam crash structure is suboptimal safety-wise.
It won't work well at shear stress, and if car actually rolls there must be shear forces acting on it.

They did the Ferrari trick of adding a radiator vent out the sidepod and calling it part of the exhaust hole by virtue of there being a tiny slot cut between the "real" exhaust hole and the new vent. I assume this will become F1 standard unless the rules are changed.zgred wrote:
