Interesting to read how some people struggle to just say "good job, well done".

All things considered Senna did incredibly well. As I've said elsewhere I expect him to struggle in a dry race as he has no real knowledge of how to look after the Pirelli tyres, and he may end up not doing so well in future races. But taking each day on it's own merit, today was very impressive.

I never rated 'slow nick', but a 1.2 second margin on a team mate who's raced all year, EVEN though you forgot to use DRS on the kemmel straight is mighty.

I hope this isn't a one off!

you seriously believe you could swamp your teammate without using DRS on the straight? How much has gone wrong for Petro´v to let this happen.

Basically you all say Senna is the man ,he only was slow in testing and FP 1Friday sessions because it was for not counting.

To be frank, I've seen a lot of young drivers show up with a huge amount of promise in their early days, only for them to slip by the sidelines as time progresses. The jury will be out for a very long time (if he even gets that chance).

Comparisons to greater drivers are for humor only; he's got massive shoes to fill after all.

Petrov spun in his quick lap in Q3. By the sector times should be 1 sec quicker then Senna. Car seems to be quite quick at the moment.

Petrov spun at Blanchimont while trying DRS for the first time. This thrashed his tyres and he couldn't recover afterwards.

Ehh, maybe you should'nt take everything so serious? But's it pretty funny that Senna is paying to perform better than Heidfeld. Your attitude tells me more of what kind of people you think that you are interacting with on this forum.
Excuse me but I find it ridiclous that most of the guys first go saying stuff like 'stupid switch, Senna is going to suck bla bla bla' and then when Senna shows good pace in Qualifying it suddenly is 'in your face nick'. That is just sad.
Allright, I can't speak for anyone else(if you follow my posts you will see I was against the switch but more for development reasons), I just cracked a joke.

No one(in their right mind) who actually followed the qualification can really think that Senna was anything more than lucky(he played it safe and it worked) to beat Petrov. I am not taking away the fact that he really did a good job, but did he meat the goals(<0,5 s behind Petrov) he had set up for himself? No(obviously he did outqualify Petrov, but from another point of view), I don't think so, beacuse the only time Petrov managed a good lap was in Q2 and Senna was one second behind.

To judge Senna from one single qualification is plain silly! I expect everyone on this forum to understand that and to understand that anyone who says anything else is joking.

Senna is a rookie ,he had a good qualy in Spa in demanding conditions but the start of the race was already asking too much of him todays.
I think he will be like sutil was in his first years ,many first lap incidents....I don´t think we will see him scoring points.Bouillier will ssoon be back in reality.
Luckily Petrov at least kept in his frame and bagged another valuable points finish .As for the marked improvement in performance of the car I don´t see the light really. But lets see what they can do in Monza.
Catching Mercedes with Petrov and Senna or Grosjean is not on the cards.with Schumacher and Rosberg sitting in the Benz no not this year.

Agree, they would have had a much better chance of catching Mercedes with Nick in the car. I think the team is looking ahead for next year...they don't know if Kubica will make it back and if he'll be up to his old quick self.

How was Senna's race pace relative to Petrov's?

So it´s more defending against FI than catching Mercedes now.
if things went on like they did in the last races Renault are at risk to get caught by FI ...assuming Senna does not score...It may be a close call.Weigh up if you need the deal in Brasil worth billions or dollars or the 2mill extra for being 5th instead 6th in the standings..How much more does the 5th earn from bernie anyways? deduct the reported 25o.000€ per race to be transferred to Heidfelds account and it ´s obvious you can take a gamble..

Senna finished some 20 seconds behind Petrov. It is not bad at all if you consider that he lost some time limping damaged car to the pits at the loooong Spa circuit and that he served his drive through penalty.

Frankly speaking I support the Renault's decision to give Senna a try. He may be the future while the Nick won't be for sure.

we will never know what Nick could have done .He really was not that lucky with two times car engulfed in flames ,unfortunate coming togethers with kobayashi and the first race better not to mention...
You create your own luck ,true as ever .Hidfeld seems incredibly bad in this ...considering the chance he was given.

Well, the SC helped a lot in gaining the lost time back....without the SC AND his incidents he'd be far further behind!

You're right, I forgot about it. Well, we have to wait and see what Senna will deliver in less eventful race.
