Alonso's fastest lap during the long run even was on the hard tyres, looks way too good to be true, indeed

My heart couldn't take it. I had to stop watching after a few minutes. I just can't handle what they did to Parabolica. They didn't only destroy the soul of that corner but the whole circuit, at least to me.
Haven't missed a Monza race since 1993. But this sunday i won't turn on the tele.

He wasn't even leading before Rosberg's gearbox conked, and hardly a few tenths/lap faster. Take it easy.

Bottas much better on race pace than everyone yesterday (including Rosberg) - Rosberg did struggle though and admitted as much. Hamilton looked on par with Bottas on the laps he performed.

See full analysis of single lap (adjusted for FP2 to Q improvements) and analysis of long run pace here.

Forget Parabolica they should put gravel around the first chicane, that would be a bigger challenge. They get away with mistakes and blatant cutting there like at the start last season.

F1 racing used to be the challenge of finding the limit while sitting on a cannonball.
Today, if you miss the limit nothing happens #-o #-o .

This year it's Parabolica, next year it'll be Lesmo. Have fun watching it but for me that has nothing to do with F1 anymore.
I agree on the first chicane, too, obviously.

- I have to admit Magnussen's slight off tack moment did look bad, he lost time but not enough, can't they make green stuff more slippery?
- How unlucky Rosberg is again, incredible ;-). Third race in a row: safety cars robbed him of a win, then these tyre bits dangling and now whole P3 and qualifying probably lost

He won't miss qualifying, they'll easily sort out the gearbox issues ... #-o

I don't think the "new" parabolica is that bad, as far as qualifying goes all the times could have been set with the gravel trap next to the track limit (read: all drivers kept their left tyres right of the white line or on it) ...well except for Vettel, but as we all know he doesn't really give a rats ass about track limits ...
(and now Rosbergs first run in Q3)
