Force India VJM11

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

SFI concentrating on rear balance during in-season Barcelona test.

Barcelona test will be make of break for the car, if they are able to solve the rear air-flow issue then the new front wing concept will be used and it will offer more speed to the car.

Are they adding more rear downforce to find out how their suspension and tyres really perform and if it is as designed? Great stuff. =D> It sort of reminds me when Williams did something like this.

I think that that extra wing on the rear wing, judging by the heat stickers is there to see how much use is blowing the rear wing Renault stile.

It's a pitot array. Those two verticals look like toothed combs, if you look closely. Measuring airflow on underside of RW. The heat stickers may just be for keeping tabs on the test apparatus.

I wonder what the advantage of this arrangement is. It does not look very clean, aerodynamically. Is it being driven by aero or mechanical?

Looks more mechanical, the wishbone is angled differently and the upright is very messy indeed.

Can somebody please post top-view of Monaco spec of the car. I think the sidepod has been trimmed a bit. [-o< [-o<

I can't get clear idea from the recently released pictures. SFI has definitely done something with the sidepod.

There you go, but I don't know if they've changed or not.

I saw that.
But look at this one.

Looks like trimmed from the bottom to provide more air to the rear wing.

Exactly where has the sidepods been altered?
