McLaren MP4-29 Mercedes

I'm expecting a new front wing and maybe some bits around the rear.

Ron is expecting to be 0,5 sec quicker in Sepang.

Not sure if i would place my bet on a new Frontwing since Macca isn't (or wasn't) the Team that brings ne Frontwings to every Race but at least i hope we will se visible Changes. ^^

Worth 0.4s on the simulator was what I heard from someone direct at the factory. He's either fudging it a bit or they're hoping for an extra tenth from setup work

New front wing is expected at almost any racetrack, because of its setup and aerodynamic issues (mainly downforce)

I think they are heavy developing the rear right now, especially that "monkey seat". Dennis said "various reasons" so I guess some things will be invisible to us, because of the car's bodywork.

Maybe the new nose that they couldn't originally get through the crash test?

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don't see what benefit they would gain from breaking this, Bizarre claim!
Well, Jenson was complaining about a hot cockpit yesterday.
Indeed
Actually this breaking off could be setting up a F-duct, so when it comes to Parc ferme B4 scrutineering of the car. they are allowed to put back a working part so that the weight is accurate ect. its plausible

I'm not so sure about the intern airflow and the effectiveness of the mclaren radiator layout, but it seperates the cool area (cockpit, fuel tank, ers-batteries) and the hot area (hot radiator air, exhaust, engine) perfect. As an example, the red bull intercooler sits practically on the exhaust.

How can their internal flow be that bad if they took 2nd and 3rd at the last race and expect to be .4-.5 seconds faster this week...

Will believe that when I see it.

0.5 seconds is a lot of time.

It's the start of the Season with completely new regs. 0.4 secs doesn't sound tooo far fetched if you ask me.

I think the F1 Cars will evolve quite a bit this Year.

In the Autosport article Ron didn't say they were bringing an upgrade worth 0.5 but that they'll be 0.5 quicker "for a variety of reasons". I would assume that to mean some small upgrades but also gaining time in car set up and PU use.

I reckon that will be around the same for most of the top teams. Possibly more for teams running Renault engines.
