Sent an email to Hungaroring saying they should name a corner after Hamilton as a celebration of his 4th win,
Turn 2 was an option Hamilton said in the FIA press conference transcript.
Very nice blog! Very detailed posts. The blog is at the same standards as Scarb's one used to be. Bookmarked.theWPTformula wrote:Hi guys,
I have a technical F1 blog page that has highlights of all the team's updates from every race of the season. You can find all the latest upgrades on the Mercedes W04 from the Hungarian GP here: thewptformula.wordpress.com
I have all the other teams but thought I'd make you aware that you can see all the Mercedes parts, too. Cheers!

More like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's an Austrian accent.simieski wrote:Not a particularly technical post, and I'm probably alone on this, but whenever Toto Wolf gives an interview does anyone else close their eyes and think its Rainiere Wolfcastle from The Simpsons?
This post should get erased, or moved to some kind of conspiracy thread, then entire thing is laughable.marcush. wrote:Hungary was a total write off last year for the team ...over and understeer all at the same time high temps on the outside tyres too low on inside ...they were completely at sea ..with Kevlar belted tyres .
so you guys tell me they mastered a brand new tyre in one weekend based on a construction they never really understood driving the full 2012 season?
They claim to have concentrated on finding race setups but still were there or therabouts in terms of qualyspeed the whole weekend.
I have my doubts.
On the other hand they were the ones who did that tyre test that led to these new tyres .
Tyre testing usually is not trying to adapt the car to the tyres ,you just dial in your baseline setup and then the car is not touched anymore apart from fuelloads.
It goes without saying the tested car and testdrivers have a major impact on the outcome of such a test. Not long ago a team with Red cars and a german driver was the tyre suppliers favourite tyre testing outfit and the tyres wer made to suit them and this led to a few championships if I remember correctly.
a certain Ross brawn was involved as well...
To me it is also logical that lotus has a slight edge in terms tyre usage simply because Pirelli does use their genes by using an old car of them for tyre testing .They certainly have a much better understanding of their own products needs so if a tyre is developped for their old car it is more than likely They know about the charecteristics of aero and suspension of the test hack better than anyone and are able to apply this knowledge to their current machinery...
I don´t want to take away anything from them ,but seriously this change is a political masterstroke not based on engineering expertise.
These crazy conspiracy posts are ridiculous.marcush. wrote:Hungary was a total write off last year for the team ...over and understeer all at the same time high temps on the outside tyres too low on inside ...they were completely at sea ..with Kevlar belted tyres .

Here's the formula you can use to explain everything:marcush. wrote:Hungary was a total write off last year for the team ...over and understeer all at the same time high temps on the outside tyres too low on inside ...they were completely at sea ..with Kevlar belted tyres .
