This provides lower attachment points for the suspension (essentially forming keels) and the curved upper surface of the nose splits air to each side of the nose, sending it to the sidepods.
Could you post details on the v nose directive Scarbs?scarbs wrote:The front A-A bulkhead can be as high as 625mm. then the area ahead of it must lower at 550mm, this is worded in the regs. Teams are allowed a a slight "V" section to the front bulkhead (not worded in the regs, but defined by CW).
This info was provided to me by a current F1 Tech director.
Most teams will run a 625mm bulkhead, therefore requiring a step to alter the nose cones top surface from 550mm to 625mm. This seems to be termed a dolphin nose.
Therefore my drawings of the 2012 nose, do not make most of the regs. Will change them and repost tonight.
Okay I'll update my drawings later to fit the new regs or make a CAD model!scarbs wrote:"Section A-A must be at least 225 mm high, 150mm either side of the car centreline
Teams were usign the allowable 25mm radius to reduce the allowable cross section tion of 275mm x 300mm
