Caterham CT-03 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Very non-technical observation this, but every year it appears as though Caterham are moving closer and closer to the 'Jaguar Racing Green' colour. They used to be much darker.

That's unique so far; the "baffle" / vane in the exhaust flow, the other teams have relied on the coanda effect to turn the exhaust plume, Caterham are doing both.

Is that vane outside the no bodywork 'imaginary cone' area of the exhaust exit?

The vane will not be connected both sides so will count as a uniform surface..IMO

What are those vertical, thick panels hanging on top of the front wing? Never seen anything like that.

I hate that green...
The exhaust bodywork is indeed very interesting. That "hole" right beneath the exhaust channel, could that perhaps be a duct for internal air to get away?

Car looks effing fast!!

Very refined in all areas.
You can see it still has the RB6 gearbox.
I am impressed with the over all quality.

Time will tell if they can fight for points with "Shar Peach"
