Regarding the range of EVs - this is not their main problem. Rather it's the time taken to recharge that's the killer. If it was 5 min to recharge, even a range of 300km is fine for 99% of motorists.

Magnetic roadways wont need batteries.
Small packs for off main road access maybe.

Last time I checked IC engines also wear out.
It all comes down to how cost effective and IC vehicles are going down electric going up.

UKHA has a tender process for a research programme - it has no design capability regarding resonance inductive charging systems
