Just the uprights and brakes. The wishbones and control arms are cnc machined aluminium. The rest of the car was already designed, so we've just integrated the Renault parts into that.
The car runs 15" diameter rims, so there is plenty of clearance betweel the caliper and the wheel. It also means I can run the original Oz Racing 13" wheels with Avons if required.
I too, had heard the wear was high at 'low' temps. Oxidization at extremely high temps is the biggest killer, but I 'm confident that even with a 1000kg car, controlling the upper temp range at track events will be manageable.
Would be great to have the low temp wear issue confirmed.
The carbon rotors came as a package deal with all the rest of the Renault gear. I already have iron rotors, which are the safe alternative. I'm just trying to determine if it's worth my time fitting the carbon ones (and what the net result will be).
At this stage, it looks like it'll be worth a shot at the track, on a test and tune day.
