They will be much more complex for sure. 2008 featured these kind of barge boards:godlameroso wrote:I'm more curious about the details of the barge boards, what we have now pales in comparison to what we'll see.
Of course. The reference to 2008 was just an illustration of the amount of complexity we can expect, but how the details will be filled in is still an unknown.Xwang wrote:Yes, but wheels will be more distant from the chassis doe to the increase to 200cm of the maximum width of the car, so maybe air flow around the bodywork will be different with respect to 2008.

They had one exactly because the rules do not allow the beam wing next year and the mule cars were not allowed to have 2017 aero on them.Scuderia1967 wrote:

Not to forget that there were many features on the "mule cars" that aren't allowed in 2017. Ferrari's side skirts, just to name one.turbof1 wrote:They had one exactly because the rules do not allow the beam wing next year and the mule cars were not allowed to have 2017 aero on them.Scuderia1967 wrote:

So no beam wing next year. That is a fact cleared up by quite a few people. I'll even take the 2017 regulations alongside it:

See for yourself going from article 3.9. If I have time, I'll draw it.
