Desperately waiting for some French sponsors on the car.


Few points to be noted here, if this is actually VJM11 :
1. The stepped nose stays for this year.
2. The halo structure is still not fitted on the car.
3. Shark fin comes back I think.

Sidepods also look a bit tighter, and the nose is freakishly short.

Rear wing is not 2017/8 spec and, as you say, no halo. That's just any old car under there.

OK, the picture from the Merc W09 thread shows rumored picture of W09 going a full 100 mm shorter. So I'll go out on a limb and predict the VJM11 will also be ~ 100 mm shorter due to shared powertrain.

Ha! Big fat wrong there! Merc has same wheelbase. Can I save face by retracting prediction before FI launches?

Suprised they still haven't launched yet or even released any pics. Vijay Mallya waiting for the buyer's check to clear?

I've seen Formula One Fans speculate over the contrast of a dark photo that was mostly black with the aid of Photoshop..... So yes yes we are.
But the cars been presented now we just wait for photos.

Man, I was going to make that joke!

To me this looks conceptually very similar on first viewing to last year’s car - another team essentially refining and developing their existing concept.

What’s interesting about that is that Williams - probably their most like-for-like rival as Mercedes customers - is one of the few teams who have made a dramatic shift in philosophy, so will be interesting to see which pays the most dividends.
