Well, I believe the R15 is running intensively before LM, just not in races.
Both Audi's Wolfgang Ulrich and Peugeot's Brunno Famin stated they need an extra test to make sure the suspentions components and brakes are OK with the extra 30kg ballast added by the ACO.
For sure Peugeot used the Spa race to test some stuff related to it already
(they had the ballast in the cars), as well as using the restricted fuel hose which makes refulling longer. Still, they're planning an extra 30 hours test at the HTTT before heading to Le Mans.
It is also rumoured that Aston are planning to introduce a new iteration of their V12, with direct injection for a boost in performance and fuel consumption. Quite daring to bring new unraced design at LM, but if it holds together, it could just make the racing tighter! But Spa's lap times showed diesels still have the upper hand, and I guess it will mean something like 5 sec a lap advantage for the Audi & Pug in La Sarthe...
