I mentioned that mod in my long pointless post (about f1 2009 anyway). I only played the f1 part though

I hope they do a good job on this new game. The new gen of consoles are perfectly capable of a true sim, and forza got it close, but this games ability to be dumbed down for the psp might just be exposing the weak physics behind it.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Gran Turismo 4 for PS2, I think that's the bee's knees. My only gripe with that game is that one of the 24h of Le Mans should be GT cars, but other than that it's awesome. Realistic tire wear, realistic grip, realistic setups. Wish they'd add Spa, though...

The reason GT4 wasn't mentioned by me, is I think it is a bad sim.

The fact that your throttle is a button that has three modes. Off, pressed, and pressed really hard is kind of lacking.

The a reason that you don't constantly swap ends when learning Gran Tourismo, is there is no throttle control.

Yes there is dual analogue, but the lack of triggers like the old and new xbox has make a big difference. Nobody slams the gas or brakes with the tips of their big toe, like using a stick for throttle makes you do with your finger.

GT4 can be a fun game, and they did a lot of things right, but it's just not a sim.

FYI - I bought GTR Evolution the other day. it was on sale for 20 bucks and came with Race 07 as well. For all of you that want to tell me that GTR2 is the best, there is a mod that gives you the complete physics and cars from GTR2. I need to get a wheel, but using my 360 controller with the dual triggers on my PC is good for the time being.

Is the Logitech g25 still the Cat's Knees? The Bees Ass? The Shick on a Stit?

Anyone tried out any of the F1 mods fort GTR Evo?

I have one. It's great. The gearbox is a bit flimsy, but everything else feels... metal.. that's the word :)

You should consider Porsche wheels by Fanatec too. Their top of the line wheel got pedals with FFB on the brake! That'd be more expensive though.

Have you tried GTR Evo with the GTR2 car and physics pack?

yes i have. the car physics in EVO is not the issue for me however. simbin fundimentaly changed the FFB effects for EVO so that now i cant feel myself driving a car, it feels like a battle ship with no feeling of the road at all. this is why i stick with GTR2.
