The whole selection process stunk. Teams like Prodrive and Lola with the experiance, manpower, knowledge and proven track records were turned down for HRT, Virgin and fake Lotus? Whilst the fake Lotus seem to know what they are doing, Virgin and HRT just seem to be bumbling along. Probably because they were promised on thing by MrM then got another, namely no budget cap (quite right!).

Whilst I'm for new teams, I realy dislike the whole selection process which seemed to be more concerned with cash than suitable teams. I can't help but think that if Prodrive or Lola were granted entry they may well still be at the back for a while, but I don't think they would be so slow that they are nothing more than very expensive mobile chicanes.

That "selection process" was all rigged by MrM Andrew, teams like Lola and Prodrive were too manufacturish and FOTA,
while Virgin and USF1 both had old friends of his on the payroll, like Nick Wirth and Peter Windsor.

Are you insinuating that the Lord and saviour of F1 was steeped in corruption? Oh the scandle, I am in a state of shock! :o I'm going to write to my MP, or the News of the World!

Hopefully the 13th team will be based on technical merit and abilities rather than old chums and big bags of gold.

just wanted to see, what would happen, if there was a 107% rule this year.
Who would have missed a race? Here is the list so far.
all things considered, not too bad I guess:

I think F1 should be open to everyone, who want´s to compete, but some performance criteria, such as the 107% rule, should apply to decide who can race on Sunday.

I belive that everyone who makes it through scrutineering should be allowed to practice and pre-qualify, 107% to be let in to qualify, then perhaps tougher for the grid, 103%?

107 actually means you be an obstacle after 14 laps.

in the ol days ,ability lapping cars was part of the driver portfolio .i rmemeber some driver exceptionally good and decisive others a joke ..

these days ..the lapped drivers need to jump aside to not be punished on the spot..so the fact you have to lap cars is not really a big issue anymore ...finesse or ability of the lapping driver is not really asked for....only in Sportscars/Endurance racing you can see this these days ..and how cumbersome these ex F1 guys are in trafic....it´s a shame.
