Despite all on-track action going on during this Turkish GP, Sebastian Vettel didn't have to car too much as he kept ahead of everyone all the way through the race. Mark Webber completed a perfect race for Red Bull while Fernando Alonso secured the first podium for Ferrari this season.
I think tyres will dominate the discussion of this race again. Traditionally in Turkey temps have been quite high, no? I'm actually slightly afraid, with hot temps, and T8. I think 3-stops is fine, but 4 stops as the norm will be too much. I want to see organized excitement and not mickey mouse "huh? What just happened?" ignorant excitement
It'll be interesting to see what the temperature is during the race weekend. If RBR are still suffering KERS issues (likely to be heat related, at least in part) then they might struggle even if they are quickest through T8. McLaren appear to be over cooling their car - maybe revisions will be in place by Turkey that reduce the cooling and potentially improve the car's L/D (meaning they can run a bit more wing without losing top end speed). This might put them closer through T8 and thus closer in overall lap time to the RB7.
Will Ferrari be able to bring more speed to their car in the next 3 weeks? Will Mercedes carry their form from China in to the potentially hotter Turkish race?
This could be quite an interesting race.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
It used to be Spa's Eu Rouge that was the tipping point. Cars could either run it flat out or not. Now all proper cars can do it flat out with no lift.
Turkey's turn 8 seems to be the new litmus test. With the loss of DDD, I wonder if any of them will be able to take it flat out, all of them, or a mix.
China had that long straight and DRS which makes the pole lap not really comparable to last years, and just because qualifying might be faster this year, from what I understand the cars are still down on over all downforce from last year.

The race is held on 8 May. The temperature will be higher than in China, but it'll be nowhere as hot as Malaysia. The first race at Istanbul Park was held in August - which is a traditionally HOT time for Istanbul so I think people tend to assume it'll be a HOT HOT race.
It won't be. Mid May temperatures are rather mild in Istanbul.
