Lets remember that Williams pioneered the Scopeless Brake Ducts which means they don't necessarily need the large ducts they have now. (Ie they are simply using the additional airflow from the larger brake duct for the axle vent)

Blowing out of the wheel in this way should help tidy up the airflow along the edge of the floor which in turn should help gain some more rear downforce. The problem is if it isn't done properly it can do more to hamper performance than improve it.

Barely anyone has bought new stuff to the tests. They mostly do that in the last test.

Apart from that, I cannot remember a 3 plane cascade being test/ran last year, so it is actually new for the wintertests
