Gotta disappoint you again mate, they did mention both things:dans79 wrote:
What they didn't mention was that button was on harder tires, and that they have no idea what fuel load rbr was running, or even what type of running they where doing.
" Ganz vergleichen ließen sich die Leistungen der beiden Autos aber nicht. Hinter der Spritmenge stand noch ein Fragezeichen. "Außerdem war er auf weichen Reifen, ich auf medium", analysiert Button. "Das hat sicher etwas ausgemacht. Vor allem bei den etwas kühleren Temperaturen am Nachmittag."
apparently my translator murdered it, but IMO it's still a fluff article to make Vettel/RBR fans feel good.Helios wrote: Gotta disappoint you again mate, they did mention both things:
http://www.formula1.com/news/interviews ... 15513.htmlQ: Were you surprised by the Red Bull’s performance today?
JB: Not really, because I think if that car goes round it will be quick - it’s just getting it around. Ricciardo was running on soft tyres and I was running on medium, which makes quite a difference. So my guess is that if they can complete a race distance they will be competitive. We are quicker on the straight line and I am sure they know that. We so far were concentrating on driveability - something we definitely didn’t have last year. Now we’ve got that. To be fair, putting downforce on that car is not the easiest thing, but it is easier than building in driveability with downforce. I am not worried about where we are - we do need more downforce, but it is coming!
"Not many people will say 'we are ready' with five days of testing. If you go to the World Cup in football and they changed the ball, and they changed the size of the court, and they gave you five days to use that ball, you would want to have more days and more experience."

So Peter backs up Jenson in saying that Red bulls is very quick trough the high speed stuff.
