He'll also be doing driving in the Red Bull. Why can't Lawson drive some? There were rumors about Lawson replacing Nyck, so maybe that's also hot air

.
Then it would make sense to have Lawson conduct the tyre test for Alpha Tauri, not Daniel. I don't know what's true at the moment, but seems strange to let Daniel do all of the testing in both cars when they want to consider Lawson's potential.
.
I don't know when the Perelli tests are. I think they won't let Liam come all the way from Japan just for one day of testing for Pirelli.
Or maybe he has a race to prepare/drive?

Sale of AlphaTauri? Marco becomes clear

05/12/2023 | 8:23 a.m
Head of Motorsport Dr. Helmut Marko responds to allegations of rule-breaking against Red Bull.

Red Bull's motorsport consultant Helmut Marko has commented on the future of the Formula 1 sister team AlphaTauri and ruled out a possible sale.

"After internal considerations of what and how to do it, we decided that AlphaTauri will remain owned by Red Bull," said Marko in an interview with RTL / ntv and sport.de: "But it will be closer to Red Bull Racing approached."

Allocation is reorganized

For example, the division between England and Italy will be reorganized. "Two new managing directors are coming, that is Peter Bayer and Laurent Mekies from Ferrari. We want to see AlphaTauri continuously as one of the leading midfield teams," said Marko.

The junior racing team "remained below sporting expectations" last year, said Marko: "For Mr. Mateschitz (the deceased Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, ed.), it was always a very important part of the racing philosophy. Because a lot of young people came via AlphaTauri."

"We'll bring a completely new floor in Imola," said head of vehicle performance Guillaume Dezoteux. "We are looking forward to having it on the car. It is a significant step, it's a big step, so we hope that can deliver on expectations.

"There's always a question mark on the quality of correlation. But so far the updates we brought have been working on expectations.

"This [new for Miami] front wing worked well and in line with the wind tunnel prediction, so we're looking forward to this day."
"We have changed the geometry around the flap elements, and the end plate to try to create more outwash," he noted.

"On this set of regulations it has been about containing the outwash and the wake of the car, but this has a cost in performance.

"All the teams are trying to find many small solutions to try to reproduce the outwash, which is beneficial for the flow structure and the downforce you generate from the underneath of the car."

Regarding the revised mirrors introduced in Miami, he said: "There is a new geometry, which is meant to modify the flow structure that goes to the rear of the car to improve the aerodynamics of the car in different conditions."

FIA are not making any effort at all to curb front wing outwash.

They tried in the off-season but their restrictions were bypassed again.. Expecting them to clamp down again come the end of the season

I'm surprised that they are waiting until the end of the season again. Ross said if teams were doing something they didn't like, the intervention would be swift. They had no problem forcing half the teams to redesign their rear wings in the middle of 2021, and then trying to catch out RB and Ferrari with the plank scrutiny in the middle of last year.

So, that is bad news. Also for De Vries who now has 1 less race to make good on his promise. Next one Monaco :-k

Yes, you are right! Monaco is very difficult to drive for a "rookie" and a crash is easy done there.

Will they structure the tire compounds for quali in the same way they were planning for Imola? Monaco + car upgrades + new quali rules might throw everyone for a loop. One of the thread starter guys should go ahead and start the Monaco race thread.

Yuki stocks rising faster this season than atmospheric CO2 levels!

Jokes aside I am impressed by his continued growth on/off track

He gets my vote. Pity some of the hundreds of news film crews do not lend a hand too.
