The mercedes is no dog. It's more like a mule with an unsolvable bowel problem.
It has been kicking strongly in the last half of the season; i wasn't expecting that.
One year passes so quickly, it would be interesting if Button was in merc this year waiting on a good car.
He nearly did that in the first half of the season.
Be honest he never yet seemed like beating hamilton; worst yet the first half of the season. Hamilton's first half is arguably the stronger part of his season.
I don't know how you come to that conclusion. Australia and china were pitstop gambles or hunches that went right.
If you look on the actual pace of both drivers it's evident that it was the circumstances that gave Button a chance to finish ahead of Lewis. The season has shown such mix ups are less likely and not good events to depend on to be #1 in a team.
Mclaren wont give you #1 status if you can gamble 1 or 2 races. When it comes to developing the car as well, speed is the determining factor of the car's progress.
Pitstop strategy or gambles doesn't do much for feedback to the team.
If we take a step back and look, Being #1 in a capable team is more valuable than being the slower driver in a top team. You stand a better chance of winning the title. Winning the WDC ahead of a faster teammate, is like trying to outrun your shadow, it's difficult, the teammate will always be 1 step a head. Barichello wasting his years in a ferrari is the perfect example.
If he looked outside of that top team he may have found himself in a mclaren or a renault.
2011 may well be a strong year for mercedes, Button wouldn't have that pesky Hamilton to worry about. He wouldn't lose sleep figuring out how to finish a race quicker than a driver who is quicker than you even on your own setup.
I can conclude that Hamilton is faster in anything, even a car to Button's liking.
the 2011 Mclaren may well put them in the same situation as this year, only this time Hamilton will be privy to Jenson's cunning.
