Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Ah right thank you for the clarification, interesting the aero sensor is inside those slots as well...and its stepped if you look at the top of the slots you can see "something" there however 2/3rds of it is very dark/hollow.

Could this concept be linked to the floor? (Rory Byrne floor blowing air through)

Or nigh ridiculous concept?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Oh no worries, I had to look back through pictures to make sure it wasn't new.

No quite sure, but possibly in a way. They look like vents(if we're speaking of the same thing) which I'm sure hot air from the engine comes out & mixes will lateral flow from the sidepods. Maybe, not sure.

No it is not. This thing Ferrari did this year is to accommodate their exhaust. 2nd reason is to use airflow over engine cover to take those exhaust gasses down to the diffuser, when they now can't do that with bodywork

I would not rule it out Isak.
Exhausts could be used as a rear flick. Coanda effect would give you a low pressure spot on the lower surface of the sidepod extension.
But probably is not that efficient comapared to blowing the edges of the floor.

One is directing flow up and the other down, I'm not too sure why they are similar.

Guys, I have a few questions here, I need your help ^^

What is the stick aimed at? Is it a part of the suspension?? In green on the pic

What are the holes for?? Cooling purposes, or aero effect intended ? In blue

Finally, What tis thing in purple? Is it aimed at chaneling some air to the beam wing or what??

And also, it seems that the blisters on the engine cover disapeared ^^

Thanks for your help :D

I've been trying to keep up with all the news, sorry I'd this is a dumb question.

Is there any way to know 100% sure that Ferrari is running or will be running the final version of the Byrne floor?

Yeah I noticed this too, is it my eyes playing tricks or are the blisters on the engine cover now gone with this revised exhaust layout? Will have to try and find some pictures from day 3 of the engine cover...

Sorry for all the double/triple posts earlier in this thread guys. I tried to post last night and nothing was showing even after a refresh or 10mins of waiting and then I check this morning and they all pop up.

Sorry about that.
